Personally, I’m a contacts wearer. But I’ve also gone through my time of wearing regular glasses as well. Actually, to be completely honest, I tend to go through phases every couple of years where I prefer one or the other. Right now though I’m on a contacts kick.
Anyway, I was at the eye doctor’s office a week or two ago picking up my contacts, and this lady came in to pay for her glasses. Guess how much she had to pay? $400!!! Now, I’m not sure how many frames she got or any other details, but they get expensive!
That’s why it’s great to have companies like ZenniOptical.com that sell quality glasses really cheap. They just recently introduced a couple of new styles as well, so their offerings just keep on growing.
And they’re getting talked about all over the place! I guess they’ve been featured on Fox News, and The Clark Howard Show. Not bad for a company that just sells inexpensive eyeglasses.
So if you need some new glasses, this is one site you’re going to want to check out. They have a really good selection of eyeglasses for men and women. You can get metal ones, stainless steel, or plenty of other choices as well.

I’m still somewhat amazed, but we had snow on the ground on Sunday. Snow! And it’s barely October!
It’s crazy because it seems like I was jsut barely writing on the blog about snow. In fact, I think I wrote about it a couple of times last winter. So I guess pretty soon we’ll be getting back into my writing about snow season.
But really, snow isn’t all that bad. Sure it’s cold and wet, but you can sure do a lot more in snow than you can in the rain! I mean seriously, can you ski in the rain? Can you mold rain into a ball and throw it at somebody? Can you make a man out of rain? NO! So yeah, snow is pretty cool.
Ok, if you can’t tell I’m a little brain dead today. Maybe it’s the cold weather getting to me. Maybe its the fact that I’m not going to be wearing shorts anymore, and that has me a little depressed.
Does anyone else go through that? It’s weird, because every fall there comes a point where I feel weird because I don’t wear shorts anymore. Then there’s a point in the spring where I feel weird putting shorts on because I’ve been wearing pants for so long. Strange…

So honestly, have you ever asked yourself if you should supercharge your car? I mean honestly wouldn’t it be kinda fun to have a supercharged car? When was the last time that you needed to get ahead of another car to get over into the other lane or something, but you just couldn’t do it because you car didn’t have the guts? I only say this because that has honestly happened to me at least 2 times in the last 2 weeks.
Well, if you are interested getting a supercharger for your car, check out the guys at SuperChargerPros.com. They have an awesome selection of products and great customer service as well. They’ll get you started right!

So I was thinking about this the other day and would love to hear what other people think about this. Here’s the question that’s been on my mind:
Is technology making us all more ADD???
I think another way to ask this question is that is it making us more rude as a people?
For example, how many times have you been standing in line to buy something, and the person in front of or behind you is yapping away on their cell phone oblivious to anything else around them? Then when they talk to the checker it’s like “hang on, I have to talk to a real person for a sec” then they quickly conduct their business and go about their way. Ever seen that? I think it’s one of the reasons why people who always wear their bluetooth earpieces drive me nuts!!!
There is a point where you need to stop multi-tasking and actually focus on one thing. But with all the things going on at one time, I think it’s making it harder for all of us to focus! Maybe you’re writing something, then an IM pops up on your screen and you attend to that really quick, then get back to work. You just broke your focus!
I’m not sure what to call this exactly, I think ADD is a pretty good term for it since with all the different technologies and interruptions we don’t focus well. At least I know I struggle with this. Anybody else have this problem or have any thoughts on it?

Every now and then a product comes out that has the possibility of really helping out a lot of people. Well I came across one today that I think has the possibility of changing the lives of a lot of people.
Dragon Naturally Speaking is a voice recognition software. So all you have to do is talk into the microphone and it will type on the screen what you say. You can also use it to pull up different applications, send emails, and lots of other things as well.
Here’s a video that will show this product in action:
I know of a friend of mine that could really take advantage of a product like this. He’s a guy that had juvenile arthritis that has really limited his mobility and other things. And to make things worse, he was in a car accident a few years ago that left him in a powerchair. He still get’s online and stuff, but I can only imagine how hard it is for him to type and other things that I take for granted. This could change his life, I should let him know about it for sure.
So if you know someone that could benefit for this type of voice recognition software, be friend and let them know. If you have any doubts about the product, you can check out the Dragon reviews or take Dragon’s typing speed test!. Awesome idea, thanks Dragon!

So I’ve heard about Playlist.com before, but never really messed with it. So as I’ve been exploring my musical tastes I’ve come back to the fact that I work best lately when listening to instrumental rock.
Since I don’t have a lot of instrumental rock (yet), I decided that the easiest way to listen to this kind of music was either Pandora or Playlist.
Don’t get me wrong, I love Pandora, but one thing I really like about Playlist.com is that you can choose the songs you want to listen to and just create a playlist (hence the name, clever huh?).
So now presenting to the world my Joe Satriani playlist from Playlist.com! Enjoy!

Ok, not really. I’ve really never been able to get into classical music. Which is sad because my Dad is a HUGE classical music fan. He has tons of CD’s, all classical. Me, I could never get into it.
In fact, it was funny cause one year I thought I’d try to ‘bridge the gap’ between us and bought him an Apocalyptica album. If you’ve never heard of them they’re a group of cello’s that play Metallica music. Pretty cool stuff, but unfortunately he didn’t like it. Oh well! It was worth a shot at least!
So back to my own ‘classical’ music. My type of classical music is movie soundtracks. I’m finding that I tend to work better when I listen to music without words, so I’m exploring the music that I already have. Right now I’m listening to a little “Two Towers” music from the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. Great stuff!
i also really like the Braveheart soundtrack. Anybody know of some other really good ones?

I know it’s a little early and all, but sometimes I like to do all of my Christmas shopping in October or early November just so I don’t have to worry about it. Is anyone else this way?
Anyway, I’ve been trying to think of something that I could get for my wife. I’ve tried all sorts of things but I’ve found that I’m not really the best gift-giver. It seems like most of the things that I give her end up disappearing after a few months, just cause they never get worn or used.
Well, what about an Omega constellation by Omega watches? You can see the picture of the one I think she’s like in this post.
These are really nice watches! The only problem for me is that they are a little pricey! But if I had the money, I think this is one that I would consider getting for her.
That’s one of the great things about watch sites like The Watchery: they have a huge selection of all sorts of watches so you’re bound to find something you like, and something within your price range. So if Omega isn’t your thing, you can always check out what else they have and get your gift anyway!

So when I was down in Vegas a few weeks ago, I noticed that just about every body had a tattoo. What’s up with that? Is it just me, or are tattoos becoming more and more common these days?
Now I’ll admit that I can totally see getting like a small tattoo or even a tribal arm band or something like that. I think those look cool sometimes.
But what I don’t get is the whole sleeves thing, and other types that just take up huge sections of skin. I saw one girl in the Paris casino that had two giant angel wings tattooed on her back. Kinda crazy.
I remember when I was in South America riding on a bus in the city, and there was this old lady standing at the crosswalk. She was dressed all nice, but she had this monster spider tattoo coming over her neck and down her chest. Just didn’t look right!
But hey, if that’s your thing, go for it! I’m just wondering why it is that they’ve risen in popularity so much lately. Maybe it’s because of shows like Miami Ink!
